When you start working the first thing you do is sign a contract. Or at least that's what you should. Once you sign it, you know that the company must register it so that Social Security knows that you are registered. ButHow do I know if I am registered with a company?
If that is the question you ask yourself and you have no idea what you can do to verify your status and, if it is wrong, correct it, we are going to help you with those procedures below. Shall we start?
How do I know if I am registered with a company?

When you are offered a job as an employee, you know that you are going to sign a contract. Or that's normal. You can find this contract in two ways:
- With or without the seal of the Ministry of Employment. When it has the seal it means that the contract has been registered and that all that is missing is your signature to comply with the law. But you will be registered with the company.
- When you don't have it, which can happen, it's because The company has not yet registered it, probably because it hopes to have your signature to carry it. You should know that the company, once it is signed, has 10 days to register it. And don't worry, because your registration will not be from the day of registration, but will be done retroactively from the day you sign the contract.
Therefore, one of the first ways to answer the question how to know if I am registered with a company is this: looking at your contract. If it has the seal, you must be registered; and if not, count ten days to find out.
And how do we know? Let's go to the next step.
Social Security, the place to know if you are registered with a company

Imagine that you start working in a company. And they have given you the contract, you have signed it... but you do not trust that they have actually registered it or that they have registered you.
What to do in those cases? Go directly to Social Security. Here you can:
- Make an appointment at any of the offices of the General Treasury of Social Security to go in person and present your case to one of the operators. Take your ID and if you have the contract also to prove that you should be registered. You can make an appointment online (through their website), or with the social security number (either general or from the office where you want to go).
- Social Security electronic headquarters. If you have digital certificate, electronic DNI, Cl@ve PIN or codes via SMS to your mobile, you can also find out if you are registered with a company online.
Below we give you the steps you must take in this second way.
How to know if I am registered with a company online

El The online method is the fastest and most direct way to find out if you are registered with a company. To do this, the first thing you should do is go to the official Social Security website and, once there, to the Social Security Electronic Headquarters.
On the website it is easy to locate because you have the logo in the right column, the first image that appears just below Entrepreneurs. Click there and you will enter a new page.
Now, as you will see, Three groups appear: Citizens, Companies and Administrations and Mutual Funds. In your case, since you are an individual person, you must click on Citizens. When you do this, a submenu will open for you to decide what you want, whether statistics, pensions, healthcare... As we are looking to see if you are registered, you have to go to Reports and Certificates.
Within that section, you will see that there are many options to choose from. And here we can tell you that you have two options:
- On one hand, ask for a certificate of working life. This will give you a list of all the jobs you have done throughout your working life, including the last one for which you must be registered.
- On the other hand, You have the option of requesting a Report on the worker's current situation, which is used to know what your current status is. If you are working, it is assumed that you will be active since the company must have registered you.
In both cases you will have the procedure in this section. You just have to search for "Report on your working life" or "Report on the employee's current situation."
In the first case, it will take you to another page as soon as you click and click on "Get access." In the second, you will see that it gives you an orange button with the word Get access and, just below it, a box that says "On your own behalf" and a down arrow. This means that you can request this report, on your own, or with a registered representative. Since you are going to request it, leave the default "On your own behalf."
The next step in the worker's current status report is to identify yourself, something you can do with permanent Cl@ve, Cl@ve PIN, via SMS or with an eDNI or digital certificate. Choose the one that is easiest for you.
Once your identity is verified, you will go to a website where you have to click where it says "Worker's current status report." In it you will be able to see what your status is, that is, if you are registered, discharged... If it says HIGH, you are effectively registered. Now, the problem with this report is that it does not tell you where you are registered, whether in the company where you are, in the previous one, in a fictitious registration (for example if you have taken unemployed courses and they have just hired you). .
Therefore, our recommendation is that you take out your work life because there it will be reflected in where you are high. Work life will also ask you to identify yourself to obtain that document. But The procedure is similar to the previous one that we just explained to you.
In this way, you can now resolve the question of how to know if I am registered with a company. Did you know how to do it?
